Excerpts from a lecture given on 7/1/80
Your intellect releases one thousand thoughts per wink of the eye. The mental work which the brain does to catch up with the thoughts released can move eighty-four tons of weight, and go eighty-four times around the sun. That is the normal pressure you are under.
The negative mind catches it and tells you what harm that thought can do because living is your first security. Then the positive mind tells you what you can make out of it. Then the neutral mind tells you what it is.
The action you take depends on what you want out of it; it depends upon your ego and your will. If you have a comprehensive, comparative, meditative mind, you will develop an applied intelligence and then when the intellect will give you thoughts, your intelligence will give you the answer and you will live a very balanced life. Otherwise, it has a lot of work, and that is why we meditate, we exercise, we spiritually want to grow. Spirit is infinite.
